Aston cum Aughton has its first Blue Plaque dedicated to Rev. William Mason (1724 - 1797),

William Mason plaque unveiled by Rev Ian Jennings & Ann key in Aston, Rotherham

A Blue Plaque was unveiled to WILLIAM MASON (1724–1797). Rector of All Saints Church Aston, Chaplin to King George III, Precentor of York Minster, Poet, Painter, Musician, Composer and Garden Designer. Members of Aston Parish Council, members of Aston Historical Society and the public were present.
